Im not Palestinian I’ve never been to Palestine but this governments failed and pusillanimous wittering about the terrible tragedy there costs it every ounce of respect I could ever have had for any of its members, and then some.
And the rot started with the head - Starmer.
He disgusts me. His cabinet disgusts me. And the idea of a foreign secretary mewing futilely in token at an Israeli representative about what has been done to those flotilla protesters?
What is she going to say? The Israeli embassy will simply say ‘well here you would in all likelihood have convicted them as terrorists anyway, wouldnt you?’
Starmer sickens and disgusts me. He needs throwing out and his cabinet of bought out hand sitters too. Today.
Super article, totally correct in putting fingers on a very sore spot. And while we’re at it; maybe we can ditch that silly ego-nurturing two-party adversarial approach to running the country, to replace it with a national management that’s more concerned with getting the issues that were promised to people just done. Not getting those promises done puts both sides of parliament in the light of being an arrogant and incompetent bunch.
What we actually have is incompetence in government by those swayed by money and big business, rather than the few who enter politics to actually make a positive difference to the population. Politics is unfit for purpose, some spikes across Westminster Bridge and some backbone would be a start towards making politics for the people.
There’s a noticeable need for the language as well as the rhetoric to be unlearned in favour of actual communication to human beings. eg ‘hard-working-families’ and the totally redundant, ‘let me be clear’ to preface some fudge or another.
How dare they blame us for something they created. Since 2010, we've had six prime ministers, including Truss who didn't even last two months. It's also not helped by certain far right politicians telling us to hate immigrants, they're taking our jobs and benefits, the poor, they're workshy scroungers, the disabled, they're getting too much benefits, and LGBTQ people, because women aren't safe. Yet these far right political groups have people in them that have a history of paedophilia and domestic abuse among their ranks. So if Britain is 'ungovernable' it's not our fault. It is the politicians fault for not tackling the rise of Reform, Restore, Advance and Stephen Yaxley Lennon.
Politicians are self interested - making money for themselves and their friends, Tony's and Labour( eg, money to Blair project, ID cards, etc).
Or they steal through tax from middle class to give to people who are entitled and lazy.
Politicians do not strive to increase wealth but tax therefore in a spiral of reduced wealth.
The curse is that they don't even see this.
Blind.
On the other side you have sound bites but not economic educated Green party eg Hackney MP wants a 2 bedroom for £600 pm! No thought of the cost of a 2 bedroom on the market and other costs just idiocy.
Reform liars at every turn and the general public have no brain cells to realise this. If they come into power, they will bankrupt Britain 1000x Tory of the last 15 years.
They are scared of upsetting the racists and rejoin EU that has cost UK approx 250 billion!
Wow. This is how to dig a hole and not confront the obvious.

Agree that it is a solid moral litmus test.
Spot on.
Agreed. If only Westminster would listen!

This is completely wrong.

Stupidly is financially killing UK.
This. The amount of space the whole Keir Starmer thing has taken up in our news is infuriating.
