I will be beyond disappointed if Burnham turns out to be just 'more of the same'. Now is an opportunity to explore a more just and fairer system. FPTP is so outdated and irrelevant to Britain in the 21st Century. The people are with you at the moment Mr Burnham; don't let them down!

It's pretty much guaranteed that Burnham will be more of the same with a northern twist.

It has long perplexed me that the referendum to leave the EU was decided by such a tiny majority. I would have thought that a two-thirds majority would have been fairer. Instead not only has the country been wracked with divisive policies and multiple leaders, but it has seen the rise once more of bigotry, fascism and racism. The UK is immeasurably poorer as a result, and not only fiscally but also morally.

Just to answer one of your points - the majority of the British people (several polls) are in favour of any British government taking more action against Netanyahu and his government. Milliband was crystal clear that action is against the Israeli government not the Israeli people. He speaks as a British Jew, I speak as the grandmother of two Jewish grandchildren and a Jewish daughter in law.

If it doesn't happen now, it will NEVER happen. Yet I keep hoping. And have been for 50+ years. The disappointment will be crushing

Perhaps local groups of Labour supporters et al in each Constituency should be invited to explain what they can do to disturb the local thinking and focus it on this precise point.
