ANY foreign interference with any government is abhorrent. But when it is from a dementia-ridden cretin like Trump, it is down-right, bloody, dangerous. For this country to allow ANYTHING American to interfere or be part of our culture is so morally wrong in every which way. Streeting sold part of our NHS to Palantir, and now he is doing the same with our armed forces. But to allow Trump, along with the stuck prig who is Jacob Rees Mogg, to have any influence in our government scares the life out of me.

The thing is, Trump is not actually the instigator of this stuff, he's not bright enough. His only ideology is "me me me", but he's a convenient idiot mouthpiece for the real, nasty fascists who actually push the agenda. His benefit to them is he's got no filter and will shamelessly spout any kind of bullshit that none of them could get away with themselves. It's these dangerous, manipulative b'stards in the background who need to be exposed and taken on.

You pick up on my reference to Trump only. What you say is correct, but do you think I don't know that? I said "ANY interference" and "ANYTHING American". That was my main argument. But you decided that I needed the education about Trump? Wow! Thank you for your input, I think!

As a dementia-ridden cretin (the same age as donald, incidentally, the lower case 'd' being deliberate) I was the first person to 'like' your post :)

What terrifies me is that the reach of right wing funding has become uncontainable in recent years (that may be decades, mayn't it?) and that centrist politicians co-operate unthinkingly with those funders - as Streeting/Palantir demonstrates once again.

Oligarchs associated with the fossil fuel sector must stop democratic governments from closing the sector down. To do this they must enlist the coercive power of nation states against the citizenry. They do this by first emphasising distinctions of race and ethnicity via the issue of immigration. Climate change will prompt mass migration, so they have the prospect of benefitting politically as they engineer ecological catastrophe. They must also normalise illegality, rule breaking, and exemplary violence against their opponents to destroy democracies. Lying religiosity disinformation and anti-science rhetoric complement the strategy. This is not just foreign sabotage of democracies. Countries with fossil fuel resources have it at home.

The donations cap should be £10,000 pa from anyone. I know Labour won't like that, but protecting democracy is more important than financial contributions.

Also the restrictions need to apply across all of the party - eg one donation of £10,000 and not £10,000 to numerous MPs
