Donation vouchers are a simple solution. Sweep all donations away. Cost to the public purse, about £150 mn per annum. End purchase of polticians.

The other side of donations, not part of this scandal, is lobbying. Require fair and equal access for community groups.

All in my book Reinventing Democracy. Second edition coming see sparklingbooks.com/rd

You really need to read it

So an investigation by Reform finds that Reform broke no laws... Hmm, I can't help feeling that there is a problem here!

Reform UK - marking its own homework? Who'd have thought? More Trumpian malarkey, me thinks!

I find the party innocent of choosing its name and knowingly having F... O.. at its heart ......

Will Reform release their 'internal report' to the general public?

If they are so sure that they didn’t break any laws, then they needn’t worry about the external investigation, no?

The "wider problem" is that this adminstrative, regulatory state is a failure. Powerful people regularly bend or break the rules knowing that they'll avoid proper scrutiny for months or years, and probably get a fine that's just the cost of doing business.

The rule of law means nothing to them - just something the proles do 'cos they can't afford these fines.

What we need are public floggings for these toffs. I'd like to see Orr in a market square covered in sewage, before 12 months of community service in a care home. Something that makes him realise that his unbridled lust for power is unacceptable

Does the report make any recommendations to better equip Reform people to avoid acting in a similar blameless way in the future? Training in Ethics possibly?
